Volunteer Opportunities

Brazos Firewise is a 100% volunteer organization made up of individual property owners in eth Brazos Canyon committed to reducing wildfire risk in the Brazos Canyon.  We cannot enhance our efforts without additional volunteers.  Please consider getting involved, there are many ways you can support the Brazos Firewise efforts.

Chipping Events

Community Chipping Events are a vital step in protecting our community and they cannot happen without the support of community volunteers.  Volunteers are needed to assist with moving limbs from brush piles to the chipper for on-site events and  unloading loads for self-haul events. Additional volunteers are needed to help with event registration, providing meals and water for volunteers, etc. If you can help in any capacity, before during or after a chipping event, please contact a member of the Firewise team listed on the Contact page or email info@brazosfirewise.com.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Getting involved is not just about mitigation, but includes a variety of behind the scenes activities that can make a tremendous impact on Brazos Firewise activities. The more people we get involved, the more impact we can make in our community.  Below are a few ways you can help Brazos Firewise.  If you are able to give an hour or two a month to help, please click the Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Volunteer button below and a member of the Brazos Firewise team will contact you to discuss volunteer opportunities.

The goal of Neighbors Helping Neighbors is to provide support to Brazos Property owners who have identified mitigation needs around their property but need advice or assistance to complete their mitigation efforts. If you need assistance, please complete the Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Request Help button below and a member of the Brazos Firewise Team will contact you to discuss how we may be able to connect you with the help you need.
