BRAZOS FIREWISE ANNUAL MEETING

Hello Neighbors!  Please join us for our Annual Meeting and get updates on mitigation efforts in the Brazos Canyon, including:

• GET A FREE HOME ASSESSMENT – A trained team member can come to your home, evaluate your Defensible Space and help you with recommendations and priorities.  Learn more and register at the event.

• GET AN UPDATE ON THE DEFENSIBLE SPACE GRANT– District Forester Joe Carrillo has launched the Grant.  Come find out when you will see the contractors and get an update on clearing for State Road 512.  We’ll celebrate with the State Crew for the great work they are doing! Let them eat cake!

• LEARN ABOUT STRUCTURAL IGNITION –  Why do some homes burn and others survive in a forest fire?  Hank Blackwell, the leader of the Wildfire Resiliency Center in Las Vegas NM and  a recognized expert in Structural Ignition, will guide us on how to reduce the risk of your Brazos house/cabin burning.  Hank brings relevant lessons from the Los Alamos and Calf Canyon – Hermits Peak fires.

• ARE YOU ABOUT TO LOSE YOUR INSURANCE  – Pam Alcorn will update us on who is likely to be dropped by their carrier and what you can do about it to stay insured.

• NORA to clear some Brazos power lines – Come learn about what it means to you.
