Brazos Fire Station

The Brazos Firewise team has planned a kickoff meeting for June 8^th to help all landowners  prepare for a safe fire season.  We were awarded a grant from Fire Adapted New Mexico to produce a video on the critical need to clear vacant lots as one way to defend our Canyon from wildfire.  Please join us for the showing of this 10-minute video made here in the Brazos by your neighbors.  Hear now using simple guidelines can make us safer while protecting the Canyon and its residents. 

In addition, two chipping events have been planned thanks to the help of a local business.    (See related article). Volunteers  will be needed to make this second annual event successful.  Sign-up sheets for specific tasks will be available at the meeting.

Since last summer additional vendors have been added to assist landowners on clearing their properties.  Vendor list will be available at the meeting and online at www.brazosfirewise.com.

Joe Carrillos, our district forester will join us to review what to expect this fire season.
